Canon's new Imageclass LBP8100n is a mono laser printer with fast print speeds and low power consumption

A key feature of this printer is the Canon proprietary On-Demand Fixing Technology, which allows it to reduce power consumption by up to 75% compared to the standard roller fixing method used by conventional laser printers.

Canon has announced the new Imageclass LBP8100n, an A3 monochrome single function printer targeted at small and medium enterprises (SMEs). A key feature is the Canon proprietary On-Demand Fixing Technology, which allows the printer to reduce power consumption by up to 75% compared to the standard roller fixing method used by conventional laser printers.

Capable of a 1,200 x 1,200 dpi (equivalent) print resolution, the LBP8100n is also a fast printer, with print speeds of up to 30ppm for A4 and 15ppm for A3. Other amenities include 128MB of device memory, a 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multi-purpose tray, and built-in Ethernet. For businesses that print a lot, they can add another three optional 550-sheet paper feeders, bringing total paper input capacity to 2,000 sheets. In addition, the printer is compatible with the Canon Mobile Printing app, allowing users to print a variety of file types, web pages, and images remotely using their iOS or Android devices.

The LBP8100n uses the Canon All-In-One Toner Cartridge 333, which combines the photosensitive drum, toner reservoir, and waste toner box into a compact unit for easy replacement. A high-yield Toner Cartridge 333 H is also available for purchase. According to Canon, power consumption is minimized to as low as 0.8W when the printer is not in use. The new Auto Shutdown function will also allow the printer to power off automatically after a period of idle.

The Canon Imageclass LBP8100n monochrome laser printer is now available at authorized Canon distributors and dealers at S$1,099.
