Brother has two new MFC printers for the home designed around affordability
The printers lack the individual colour ink tanks of other models but are affordably priced.
Brother’s new A4 Inkjet Multi-function Centre models, the MFC-J1010DW and DCP-J1050DW, are here and designed to deliver affordable printing for home users.
Both printers come with print speeds of 17ipm in black and 9.5ipm in colour with resolutions of up to 1,200 x 6,000 dpi. These models don't use ink tanks but regular ink cartridges.
They feature a 1.8-inch LCD display for device controls and other functions. One nice touch is that while the LCD itself doesn’t move, the panel it is on can pivot for easier viewing. Besides the panel, there are simple but easily accessible and understandable controls on the panel to print, scan, and copy. The MFC-J1010DW has an additional fax function.
In terms of connectivity, both printers support mobile and wireless connectivity, allowing users to work from wherever they want, even from mobile devices and the Cloud, using Brother Mobile Connect and Web Connect.
Only 40cm long, both printers won’t take up much space in the home. They have a 150-sheet paper tray and can-do two-sided printing automatically. The MFC-J1010DW also has a 20-sheet ADF for added productivity.
Pricing and availability
The DCP-J1050DW and the MFC-J1010DW come with a three-year warranty and are priced at S$168 and S$198 respectively. They are available from Brother’s online site and authorised resellers and superstores.
