Apple reportedly ditched plans for a 27-inch display with mini-LED and ProMotion

The standalone 27-inch display with mini-LED and ProMotion is said to have been axed by Apple.

Apple might not release a 27-inch display with mini-LED and ProMotion.

Display analyst Ross Young shared that Apple has "killed off" the display after shipping "some panels" last year. Ross did not elaborate further, but he claimed in February this year that the 27-inch display with mini-LED could be delayed as there were no signs of it going into mass production.

The 27-inch display with mini-LED was initially slated to launch in June 2022. However, the Covid-19 lockdowns in Shanghai reportedly forced Apple to push back its launch to October 2022. Nonetheless, Bloomberg says Apple is working on "multiple new external monitors", which will include the successor to the Pro Display XDR.
