Apple is reportedly working on a new external display for the Mac which could double as a smart home display.

In his latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg shared that the external Mac display could function as a smart home display in low power mode. The external Mac display is likely to run an iOS-device chip (e.g. A16).

Gurman reiterated that Apple is working on other external monitor options. In December 2022, Bloomberg reported that Apple is working on "multiple new external monitors" which would include the successor to the Pro Display XDR. Research firm Omdia recently claims Apple would release OLED monitors in 2027.
