Razer has just announced the latest iteration of its popular DeathAdder series with the launch of the DeathAdder V4 Pro. Released nearly three years after its predecessor, the new DeathAdder V4 Pro introduces a wide range of updates and enhancements. Despite these changes, the new V4 Pro maintains the series’ signature high-performance standards and ergonomic right-handed design.

The first noticeable change with the new DeathAdder V4 Pro is its larger rear end, which provides additional support for the palm and improved comfort for users with larger hands. Despite this structural change, Razer has managed to keep the weight down from its predecessor’s 63g to just 56g. This makes the DeathAdder V4 Pro one of the lightest ergonomic gaming mice currently available, all without relying on a honeycomb shell design.

The DeathAdder V4 Pro also comes in white.

In addition to the larger palm rest, the V4 Pro now features larger PTFE feet for smoother gliding across surfaces and a wider gap between the thumb buttons to help minimise accidental clicks during gameplay.

Under the hood, Razer has introduced major upgrades to nearly every aspect of the DeathAdder V4 Pro. The new mouse now features Razer’s HyperSpeed Wireless Gen 2 technology, which the company claims offers over 63% greater power efficiency and 37% lower latency compared to the previous generation. It also comes with a newly redesigned wireless dongle that supports polling rates of up to 8000Hz at 0.125ms intervals in both wired and wireless modes. In terms of battery life, Razer states that the DeathAdder V4 Pro can deliver up to 150 hours of use at a 1000Hz polling rate, and approximately 22 hours at the full 8000Hz setting.

Also new to the series is the debut of Razer’s new Optical Scroll Wheel, which should address the precision and durability issues often associated with traditional mechanical scroll wheels. Complementing this is the inclusion of Gen 4 Optical Mouse Switches, rated for up to 100 million clicks. These switches have been reengineered to reduce actuation force while maintaining a crisp and tactile feel, making them more responsive and reliable during gameplay.

At the heart of the mouse is Razer’s Focus Pro 45K Optical Sensor Gen 2. This sensor supports up to 45,000 DPI, 900 inches per second (IPS) tracking speed, and 85 G of acceleration. Like its predecessor, the V4 Pro includes additional features such as Dynamic Sensitivity, Smart Tracking, and Sensitivity Matcher that can be toggled via Razer Synapse.

Finally, it’s not an esports-ready mouse unless the pros use it. For the DeathAdder V4 Pro, Razer teamed up with top players like Counter-Strike star Nikola “NiKo” Kovač, who tested early prototypes and provided feedback on weight, button feel, and overall handling to help fine-tune it for competitive play.
