Apple released two new charging accessories for the iPhone: a MagSafe charger that comes with faster Qi2 25W, and the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max.
While the MagSafe charger looks the same as last year’s, it now comes certified for Qi2 25W. In case you missed it, Qi2 25W is the official branding for Qi2.2, which has 25W wireless charging and is faster than its old 15W speeds.
The new MagSafe charger supports the iPhone 8 and newer, as well as AirPods models with a wireless charging case. However, the magnetic alignment feature remains exclusive to the iPhone 12 and newer.
The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is not yet available in Singapore.
Also joining the list of first-party power adapters is the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max. Apple says it is designed to dynamically deliver up to 60W of output to fast-charge iPhones.
The 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max can fast charge the iPhone 17 models and reach 50% battery in about 20 minutes or the iPhone Air from 0% to 50% in about 30 minutes.
Availability and Pricing
The Apple-designed 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W is priced at S$59, though it is not yet listed on the Apple Singapore Online Store.
The Qi2 25W-certified MagSafe Charger is listed in two lengths: 1 metre for S$59 and 2 metres for S$79. At the time of publication, there is no indication of its availability, shipment or pick-up from the Apple Store, although that should change as the new iPhones approach its retail date.
