Given how many distractions we have at home for our children, whether in the form of gaming consoles, PCs, and schoolwork, we can sometimes forget that they also need outside playtime and physical activity.

So, for kids, Fitbit has launched its third iteration of a kid’s activity and sleep tracker, the Fitbit Ace 3.

Fitbit was acquired by Google at the end of 2019 with the deal finalised in January this year. The Fitbit Ace 3 is their first device launched since then.

The Ace 3 is Fitbit’s update to their previous kids’ trackers, the Ace 2. The new model has a brighter display, better battery life, and a do not disturb mode.

And the competition hasn’t been idle either.

Garmin launched their updated Vivofit Jr 3 in October last year with some special Disney variants. Apple’s Watch SE has been around for a while now (albeit a lot more expensive!) and they have a family setup that helps keep an eye on loved ones.

Targeting kids aged 6 and up, the Fitbit Ace 3 is designed to help kids get active and build healthy habits with the whole family.

The device can set customisable goals around school and homework, to help motivate kids to get moving to reach the 60 daily active minutes with reminders to take at least 250 steps per hour.

Kids can also set personalised goals and track their activity by reviewing their stats on the bright, easy-to-use touchscreen, setting timers and racing against the stopwatch.

Sleep tracking, bedtime reminders and silent alarms help parents and kids work together to develop a consistent sleep schedule that gives kids enough time to rest and energise for another day of staying active and building healthy habits.

In the Fitbit app, kids can connect with parent-approved friends and family, engage in friendly competition via Family Face-Off challenges, and celebrate milestones with virtual badges and trophies.

Additionally, there are also more animated clock faces and new accessories to motivate kids and show off their personal style. With up to 8 days of battery life in a water-resistant design (up to 50m), means the Fitbit Ace 3 can keep up with your kids all week long.
