Tag Heuer will unveil a smartwatch powered by Android Wear 2.0 in May

Jean-Claude Biver, Head of Tag Heuer, reportedly said that the company will release a new smartwatch powered by Android Wear 2.0 in May.

Tag Heuer is going to expand its smartwatch portfolio in May this year.

According to Androidheadlines, Jean-Claude Biver, Head of Tag Heuer, revealed that the company will be releasing a new smartwatch in May. The Android Wear 2.0-powered smartwatch is said to come in two sizes. It will come with new features such as mobile payment, a more accurate GPS chipset, a better display and an Intel processor which is manufactured in Switzerland. 

When asked about the sales of its current Connected Watch, Biver shared that the company has sold 56,000 pieces since launch. The Connected Watch was announced in November 2015 with a price tag of US$1,500 (~S$2,132). Bloomberg reported a month later that production had to be stepped up to meet high demands from retailers, agents and subsidiaries.
