OPPO today (29 February 2024) announced the launch of the OPPO Watch X, its flagship-grade, full-service smartwatch with GPS, Wi-Fi, NFC, and Bluetooth connectivity.
In a bid to make smartwatches resemble analogue timepieces more, the OPPO Watch X combines the OPPO Find X series phone aesthetics with a Comsos Design that features a big dial and round face inside a 46mm stainless steel case. It’s topped off with sapphire crystal glass on the watch face to make it more durable against scratches, too.
OPPO Watch X design.
If the OPPO Watch X’s bezels with a single straight edge and top-mounted dial look familiar, don’t worry — you’re not imagining things. It does look nearly identical to the OnePlus Watch 2 launched at MWC 2024, and that’s no surprise since both OnePlus and OPPO are technically under the same holding company.
Even its core components are identical. The OPPO Watch X uses a dual-engine architecture, featuring one Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset for demanding workloads. It’s paired with the same BES 2700 MCU efficiency chipset that takes on background tasks.
You’re also getting a 500mAh battery with a maximum of four days battery life (100 hours), which can go even further to 12 days on Power Saver Mode. OPPO said that the watch has fast charging, where a 10-minute charge can pump out 24 hours of usage.

As a Wear OS 4 device with a real-time operating system (RTOS), the OPPO Watch X is supported on smartphones that run modern versions of Android (Android 8.0 or newer). Unfortunately, this means it’s incompatible with iPhones since Wear OS 4 is not supported on iOS.
OPPO said that the Watch X offers 24-hour monitoring of stress, blood oxygen, and heart rate, even in Power Saver Mode. Together, these metrics can give you a snapshot of your current health levels without extra steps. The smartwatch also uses its 8-channel heart sensor and 16-channel blood oxygen sensor to monitor your sleep (or even short, 20-minute naps) and tell you if it detects any signs of sleep apnea.
OPPO Watch X supports 100+ workout modes.
It’s also targeted at folks with an active lifestyle, since the watch supports more than 100 workout modes, with 11 of the most popular ones available at a glance.
Some workouts get more customisation and granularity than others. Specific to the OPPO Watch X is a dual-frequency GPS (L1 and L5) for extremely precise location tracking (suitable for cyclists), a running tracker with details like Ground Contact Time, GCT Balance, Vertical Oscillation, etc., and a Badminton Mode with tracking for 12 attributes (shot distribution, swing speed, etc.). Other activites, like rowing, swimming, walking, are all supported too.
Stress, blood oxygen, and heart rate tracking form the fundamentals of the OPPO Watch X's 24-hour monitoring.
While you can get hold of deeper insights through OPPO’s OHealth app, the OPPO Watch X is also compatible with Google Health Connect, the redesigned Fitbit app. This means your OPPO Watch X data can be seen alongside third-party health tracking data, like MyFitnessPal, Run Tracker, and Strava.
Specs-wise, the OPPO Watch X features a 1.43-inch AMOLED display (466 x 466 pixels resolution) with 1,000-nits peak brightness, weighs 80g with the straps, and is also certified with IP68 water and dust resistance, on top of MIL-STD-810H military durability grading.
Pricing and availability
The OPPO Watch X comes in one variant, a 46mm stainless steel case. It has an official retail price of S$499, and it goes on shelves from 2 March 2024 onwards.
