At an event in Paris today, along with its new P30 and P30 Pro smartphones, Huawei also announced its first pair of smart glasses, which have been co-developed with cult Korean eyewear brand, Gentle Monster.
Gentle Monster CEO, Han Kook Kim, took to the stage to explain how they focused on making the glasses look more stylish than other existing smart glasses like Google Glass. Huawei CEO, Richard Yu, also joked that Huawei's smart glasses look even better than regular sunglasses. Here are some first-hand photos from the show floor:-
The glasses will be available in both sunglasses lenses and clear lenses, and are IP67 dust and water resistant. There are no buttons anywhere on the glasses, but each pair comes with dual microphones to make phone calls. The glasses also include AI noise reduction to improve call clarity.
The glasses also have a pair of speakers inside that are positioned directly over your ears to provide clear audio. They also have NFC onboard and can be charged wireless through a special glasses case that has a 2,200mAh battery.
Huawei did not announce a price for the glasses, but has announced an estimated July 2019 launch date.
