Fitbit announces new Charge 2 and Flex 2 activity trackers

Fitbit has just announced two new activity trackers. The Charge 2 with heart-rate monitoring, and the "swim-proof" Flex 2.

Fitbit has just announced two new activity trackers.

The first is the Charge 2. An update on the original Charge HR, the Charge 2 features heart-rate monitoring and activity tracking. It can also automatically detect when you have fallen asleep.

Along with the Fitbit app, the Charge 2 can help users create sleep schedules with bedtime reminders, and vibrations to help you wake up gently.

The display on the Charge 2 is also four times larger than the original Charge HR, so users can see more at a glance.  Battery life is claimed to be up to 5 days.

The Charge 2 will also come in a wide variety of colors and bands to suit anyone's style. Users can pick from three separate collections - Classic, Luxe and Special Edition Series - which includes a variety of water-resistant rubber straps and leather straps.

The other new activity tracker that Fitbit has announced is the Flex 2.

The Flex 2 is the successor to the original Flex, Fitbit's most popular and iconic activity tracker.

The new Flex 2 is the company's slimmest ever band and it is now "swim-proof", which means it can track swimming activities.

Discreet LED indicators lets users easily check their progress and the Flex 2 can even use color-coded indicators to notify users of incoming calls and text messages.

The other nifty thing about the Flex 2 is that the tracking module can be detached and used in different accessories. It can work as a regular wristband or as a bangle, and it can even be removed and worn around the neck like a pendant.

In the Classic Collection, the Flex 2 is offered in a variety of different colored rubber wristbands, but users can opt for a 22k gold bangle or gold pendant to dress up their Flex 2 in other styles.

Like the Charge 2, the Flex 2 works seamlessly with the Fitbit app to help users track their activity and health. The app can even suggest ways to improve your lifestyle.
