The Apple Watch Pro may use a new lineup of watch bands.

According to Weibo user UnclePan潘叔, the Apple Watch Pro will not be compatible with existing watch bands due to its new, square-edged design. Apple may unveil a new lineup of watch bands that is designed specifically for the Apple Watch Pro.

Since the introduction of the Apple Watch in 2014, Apple has ensure backward compatibility of the watch bands with every generation of the Apple Watch. The choice to use a new lineup of watch bands for the Apple Watch Pro could signal a deliberate strategy to differentiate the rugged model from the rest of the lineup.

The Apple Watch Pro is said to be the rugged model of the lineup. Mark Gurman from Bloomberg says it will have a screen that is almost two inches with a more shatter-resistant panel. The chassis is said to be built with a strong metal material. In addition, the Apple Watch Pro is likely to have a longer battery life and cost more than the standard Apple Watch Series 8.
