Fans of the Moto 360 don't hold your breath waiting for a new Moto smartwatch. The company has just said that they are holding off on smartwatch indefinitely.
The Moto 360 smartwatch has been a popular choice for many users who want a capable smartwatch, but with a more traditional round face.
Unfortunately, Moto has just said that it does not plan to launch a new smartwatch alongside the launch of Android Wear 2.0 next year.
Shakil Barkat, head of global product development at Moto, even said that the company will be holding off on smartwatches indefinitely.
Barkat said that there isn't enough interest and demand to put a new smartwatch out at this time and also that the company does not see a real need to put out a new smartwatch year after year.
That said, Barkat believes that smartwatches do have a future, but their time is not ripe yet. "We believe the wrist still has value and there will be a point where they provide value to consumers more than they do today."
