Snap Inc. has announced Spectacles 3, their latest version of Spectacles sunglasses. The new eyewear comes with dual HD cameras designed to capture 3D footages.

According to the company, the frame of the sunglasses is crafted from a single sheet of “lightweight stainless steel” and the eyewear is “engineered for elegance, durability and comfort.” The dual HD cameras record HD video at 60fps and there’s a four microphone array to record audio.

Spectacles 3 features a new 3D Effects suite to enhance photos and videos, and they can be wirelessly synched to a paired smartphone. There’s also 3D Viewer to relive memories or to vicariously enjoy someone else’s Spectacles 3 footages.

Spectacles 3 owners can choose from either carbon or mineral colour. The sunglasses are bundled with a leather case of the same colour. Snap Inc. isn’t too forthcoming with hardware specifications; however, it appears the carrying case doubles up as a charging bank.

Spectacles 3, as well as its carrying case, aren’t waterproof, unlike the previous generation Spectacles 2. The new 3D-enhanced sunglasses are available for pre-order at US$380; in comparison, the Spectacles 2 costs US$200. Head over here for pre-order details.
