Audio-Technica announced another pair of true wireless earbuds (TWS), growing its wireless arsenal of personal audio devices for fans and audio-heads alike.
The ATH-TWX7 is the midrange version of its premium-grade ATH-TWX9 earbuds (review here). It packs the essentials of high-quality audio delivery but at a lower sticker price than its flagship counterpart.

For a start, the ATH-TWX7 offers for 24-bit/96kHz transmission, with support for wireless codecs like LDAC, AAC, and SBC. Codec switching is handled through its accompanying app.
The inclusion of LDAC on these earbuds is very heartening to see, since the more expensive ATH-TWX9 does not support it (the pricier one has Qualcomm’s AptX and AptX Adaptive instead).
Audio-Technica also said that the ATH-TWX7 inherited its premium sibling’s 5.8mm drivers, which, in our review, found them to be highly competent despite its size.

ATH-TWX7 offers hybrid noise-cancelling technology, powered by two MEMS microphones (per earbud side) that capture environmental noise and cancel it out using its processor, on top of an ATH-made filter to eliminate other unwanted sounds. The built-in microphones also double up as an awareness aid with their hear-through mode, so you can use these earbuds without losing out on situational awareness while outside.

A third talk-through function lowers playback volume and allows voices to come through, all while shutting out your environment. Audio-Technica said it lets the user hear important announcements or conversations when necessary.
Voice calls also get an added noise reduction mode if you have to talk to the caller in noisy places.
Audio-Technica ATH-TWX7 comes with two sets of eartips (different sizes, soft and normal hardness).
Other perks on the ATH-TWX7 include multipoint support (for up to two source devices), one-sided listening, an “IPX4-equivalent” splashproofing, connectivity via Bluetooth 5.1, and Fast Pair for Android devices.
The earbuds pack 6.5 hours of playback with noise cancellation, up to a total of 20 hours if you include the charging case’s battery. The buds can deliver 60 minutes of uptime with a quick 15-minute charge.

Audio-Technica’s ATH-TWX7 true wireless earbuds come in three colours (Ash Black, Rich White, Stone Gray) and they officially retail at S$268 islandwide and through authorised retailers (like its Shopee storefront).
