ASUS today (2 September 2024) announced the ASUS VivoWatch 6 for the Singapore market, bringing a new sensor and feature to the 24/7 health and wellness tracker.
The ASUS VivoWatch 6 packs medical-grade ECG (heart electrical activity) and PPG (blood volume change) sensors, offering fingertip sensing for metrics that are nascent to the wearable and smartwatch form factor.
The outer ring also employs a bioelectrical impedance (BIA) sensor to measure body composition (muscle, bone, fat, water, and basal metabolic rate). Users place their thumb and index finger on the watch face to get these readings.
The smartwatch also has a Relaxation Index that measures short-term stress levels by employing heart rate variability (HRV). It also has a weekly Body Harmony Analysis that shows the daily emotional state over a week.

By adopting a one-touch design, ASUS combined all its sensors, letting users get all these readings in a single attempt: blood pressure, ECG, body composition, heart rate, and SpO2. The smartwatch still offers a traditional backplate sensor for all-day, 24/7 readings with programmable intervals (five minutes, up to two hours).
This smartwatch is also compatible with both major smartphone operating systems because it displays results using the ASUSHealthConnect app (iOS, Android).
As a device, ASUS VivoWatch 6 offers a 1.39-inch AMOLED round panel covered in Gorilla Glass (454 x 454 pixels resolution, 350-nits brightness). Inside is a 290mAh battery that ASUS claimed has a maximum of 9 days’ worth of uptime during regular use (14 days if on power-saving mode).
It still packs normal health tracker features, like detailed sleep monitoring, all-day heart rate, sports tracking (walking, cycling, yoga, water-based sports), and 5ATM water resistance.

The ASUS VivoWatch 6 will be available in Singapore in mid-September 2024 for S$499. It is listed on ASUS’s official website.
We’re checking with ASUS Singapore to determine if the ECG, BP, and other new features mentioned have already been approved for use here. It is still unclear if these features are enabled at launch.
