The next Apple Watch Ultra might have 3D-printed parts, according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

Kuo's survey indicates that Apple is "actively adopting 3D printing technology", and some titanium mechanical parts of the upcoming Apple Watch Ultra model could be made by 3D printing.

Kuo says 3D printing reduces production time and costs even though 3D-printed parts still have to go through the CNC process. IPG Photonics is reportedly the sole supplier of laser components, while Farsoon and BLT are the printer suppliers.

Would this translate to better prices for consumers? While consumers like us can hope, it's more likely to improve Apple's profit margins and time-to-market when demand is high.
