The latest reports suggest that Apple is currently planning an event to unveil its second generation Apple Watch. And according to sources with knowledge of these plans, the date for this event could be as early as March 2016.

Additionally, they also say that Apple would plan to ship its new Apple Watch a month later in April - a year after the first Apple Watch was released.

It's unclear that this point what sorts of technologies or features the second generation Apple Watch would have.

That said, Apple has long been working on incorporating new tech into its watch and the new Apple Watch would ostensibly feature longer battery life, better connectivity, sleep tracking and advanced health sensors.

If true, this would undoubtedly put lots of pressure on its competitors. Despite its relative high price, the Apple Watch is already the best-selling smartwatch and second best-selling wearable. Reports estimate that Apple sold nearly 4 million Apple Watches in Q3. No other smartwatch company comes close.

Additionally, there's also talk that Apple would take the opportunity at this event to also unveil a smaller 4-inch iPhone 6c.
