If you're using Google's new Android P Developer Preview, you may have noticed that Google is now referring to Android Wear as "Wear OS" and has also replaced the usual watch-like logo with a distinctive "W."
This could signal an imminent rebrand for Android Wear, similar to Google's recent rebranding of Android Pay to Google Pay. As with Google Pay, Android Wear watches are compatible with iPhones, so Google may be trying to remove some confusion with a more platform-agnostic name.
