Rokid AI Glasses coming to a Challenger near you
Forget the Meta Ray-Ban, you’ll be able to buy the Rokid Glasses directly in store from 10th October onwards.

As I write this, the Rokid AI Glasses Kickstarter is still ongoing. It’s hugely successful and has garnered over S$3,100,000 in pledges so far, with about 12 days to go before the campaign ends.
So, you could still choose to back the Kickstarter and wait for the estimated shipping to start in November. Or, you can head down to a Challenger near you, try it in person and pick up a pair immediately starting October 10th. Yes, that’s right, the moment the Kickstarter campaign is over, Rokid is going to start selling the AI Glasses at select Challenger stores in Singapore. This is probably a first in Kickstarter history that retail buyers will be able to get their hands on a product first.
With its official entry into the Singapore retail market, Rokid is aiming for a first mover advantage in a relatively competition-free market. Even Meta hasn’t brought in the Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses into our shores, with Gen 2 out since 2023.
Rokid AI Glasses key USPs.
Rokid’s AI Glasses would most closely compete with the new Meta Ray-Ban Display. Like the Meta Ray-Ban Display, the Rokid AI Glasses are full-function AI glasses with a built-in AI assistant and integrated display so you can see as well as hear the AI responses to your queries, among other things. Instead of a colour display though, the Rokid AI Glasses has a monochrome display. However, unlike the Meta Ray-Ban Display which only has one screen on the right eye, the Rokid AI Glasses has displays on both eyes using binocular diffractive waveguide technology. The Rokid AI Glasses are also much lighter at just 49g (compared to 69g for Meta’s Display). It achieves this with an ultra-lightweight, yet durable frame made from TR90 material with titanium alloy hinges.
In my short time trying it out, I was surprised to find that the learning curve was minimal, and I got used to reading the AI responses and perform simple menu functions without impeding my vision of the real world. The display was also almost invisible from the front size of the glasses and only flashes of it can be seen at very specific angles.
The Rokid AI Glasses run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR1 platform, feature a 210mAh battery that Rokid claims to last “all-day”, which is classified as a standard 8-10 hour work day on a mixed use scenario. If you’re using the glasses to listen to music like a Bluetooth headphone, it would last about 6 hours, or 4 hours of voice calls, and 45 minutes of continuous video shooting. It does however support fast charging, and will get you 80% charge in just 20 minutes.
Speaking of audio and video, the Rokid AI Glasses feature a 12MP Sony IMX681 camera sensor capable of shooting up to 1680p video and 12MP stills. Audio is delivered with near-ear AAC speakers on the stems, and voice pickup is handled by a 4-mic array with AI noise reduction.
Much touted AI capabilities are a mixed bag though, as some features are available free on-device (or on app), such as standard AI Assistant queries and a small subset (English, Chinese, Japanese, German, French, Spanish) of offline language translation using Rokid’s own built-in LLM. Other non-AI smart functions like camera, audio playback, recording, taking phone calls and a teleprompter mode are also free.
However, advanced AI functions like the full 89 language translation, audio transcription and HUD navigation are limited to a fixed monthly 100 token allocation, which can be expanded through a subscription or one time token top ups. These features would also need an internet connection to use, which means connected to your phone and the Rokid app. Considering that most users are happy with the free version of ChatGPT, this might not really be a deal breaker.
Rokid believes that AI glasses will revolutionise and become the dominant form of smart glasses.
In any case, AI Glasses are a nascent product category. Rokid believes that it will be as revolutionary as the iPhone ushering the era of smartphones. At least, now there’s an actual product in Singapore that everyone can try for themselves.
The Rokid AI Glasses will go on sale on 10 October 2025 with an SRP of S$848 at the following Challenger Stores: Bugis Junction Flagship store, VivoCity, Plaza Singapura, NEX, and Jewel.
Not cheap, I know. But consider the Meta Ray-Ban Display’s US$799 price tag to put things in perspective.
Besides the Rokid AI Glasses, the Rokid AR Spatial glasses are already available for sale at the Challenger Bugis Junction Flagship store, VivoCity and NEX. It has an SRP of S$969.
