Garmin unveiled the world’s first microLED smartwatch, the fēnix 8 MicroLED.

The smartwatch features a 1.4-inch touchscreen display with over 400,000 individual LEDs, delivering up to 4,500 nits of brightness. For comparison, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series have a maximum brightness of 3,000 nits - making the fēnix 8 MicroLED the brightest smartwatch ever.

Other benefits of the microLED display include:

  • 15% wider colour gamut for richer, more accurate colours
  • Ultra-wide viewing angles
  • Improved burn-in resistance

The fēnix 8 MicroLED comes with the full suite of performance, navigation, health and wellness, and connected features, including preloaded TopoActive Maps, dynamic round-trip routing, the Garmin ECG app, Garmin Pay and sleep coach.

Battery life is rated at up to 10 days in smartwatch mode (with 4 days always-on display) and up to 14 days in battery saver watch mode.

The fēnix 8 MicroLED will be available for purchase in October 2025 at a retail price of S$2,649 from Garmin Brand Stores, Lazada, Shopee, Garmin Online Store, Takashimaya and selected authorised retailers.
