If you’ve seen a recent Samsung Galaxy smartwatch wearable before, you’ve already seen the new Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic. But if you want to know more about the innovations underneath the new wearables, there will be an additional Wearables Livestream Special focusing specifically on the Watch6 series on 28th July 2023, you can watch it right here.

Don’t get us wrong — we meant well when saying they look not that much different. Wearables, especially smartwatches, are meant to look like they belong, so it was good that Samsung took extra effort in creating many new watch faces and straps to go with these two wearables (and they were on full display at the demo session in Seoul).

Much of the Galaxy Watch6’s and Watch6 Classic’s value lies in how they play nicely with the new foldables phones like Z Flip5, Z Fold5. The only differentiator is the watch face sizes, and how the Classic variant comes with a tactile, rotating bezel for that added sense of control over its interface.

Samsung also showed off a host of Wear OS 4 apps on these One UI 5 Watch devices, although most needed data and metrics to come alive. At the demo, we saw samples of its advanced sleep monitoring and a quick demo of how the Galaxy Watch6 series worked seamlessly with an enterprise app (SAP).

Save for the upgrades we’ve seen at the demo event in Seoul, the rest of Galaxy Watch6 and Galaxy Watch6 Classic enhancements are under the hood, which needs a closer look at its specs sheet and at least some time with the wearable on our wrist (which we didn’t have an opportunity to do so).
