The Apple Watch Nike+ launched last week and it is the result of a collaboration between Apple and Nike. For old-timers, you'll know that Apple and Nike go way, way back. Remember the Nike+ iPod kit?

The Apple Watch Nike+ comes in 42mm and 38mm Space Gray and Silver aluminum cases. And each color case has two strap options. The Space Gray aluminum watch comes in either a Black/Volt strap or a Black/Cool Gray strap. The Silver aluminum watch will be offered with a Flat Silver/Volt strap or Flat Silver/White strap.
The straps are made of the same lightweight and super-soft fluoroelastomer as the original Apple Watch Sport watches. However, they feature Nike's distinctive perforations that reduce weight and improve wrist ventilation and breathability. In addition, these straps are exclusive to the Apple Watch Nike+ and cannot be purchased separately.
The straps are super soft and comfortable. The Apple Watch and Nike branding leaves no doubt as to this strap being a little special.
Also exclusive to the Apple Watch Nike+ are these two watch faces, called Nike+ Digital on the left, and Nike+ Analog on the right. They feature Nike's distinctive fonts and colors, and are designed to help you run more regularly.
Apart from the exclusive watch faces and straps, how do you tell if it's an Apple Watch Nike+ watch? Simple, turn around and look for the Nike+ swoosh on the case back of the watch.
Here's a wrist shot of the 42mm Space Gray Apple Watch Nike+ with the Black/Volt strap. It wears just like the regular 42mm Apple Watch Series 2.
And here's the 38mm Silver Apple Watch Nike+ with the Flat Silver/Volt strap. The 38mm variant obviously wears smaller, but I think it would be unfair to say that it's for ladies. I think it's a good size, even for men, especially if you prefer to wear more modestly sized watches.
The Nike Run Club app is available to all Apple Watch users and not just owners of the Apple Watch Nike+. It's a running app with a twist, as it has special mechanics and features to motivate wearers to run more frequently.
The app works on its own and does not require your iPhone to be around. It makes use of the watch's built-in GPS to measure distance and speed, and also plots your running route.
Once you are done with your runs, you can review them on the Nike Run Club app on your iPhone. Runs and activities recorded by the Nike Run Club app will also sync with Apple's own Activity app and will count towards your activity rings.
The 38mm Apple Watch Nike+ is priced at S$548, whereas the 42mm Apple Watch Nike+ is S$588. This means they are priced the same as the aluminum case Apple Watch Series 2 with fluoroelastomer straps. So unless you hate the straps or are looking for a gold or rose gold aluminum case, the Nike+ is actually worth checking out.
