Singtel is teaming up with KOI Thé to teach Singaporeans learn more about cybersecurity and how to protect yourself with the use of bubble tea. So from 25 November to 1 December, come down to Bugis Junction and get a bubble tea when you try one-of-a-kind pop-up from Singtel, used to highlights its newest scam-fighting tool, Singtel Mobile Protect.
Keeping with the bubble tea analogy, like an upsized bubble tea with extra toppings, Singtel’s new Mobile Protect offers upsized ‘Securi-tea’ with added enhancements that will protect you against cyber threats such as phishing, malware and malicious websites.
The Singtel x KOI Thé ‘Hello Securi-Tea’ Pop-Up Experience:
- Date: 25 November to 1 December 2024
- Time: 11am – 9pm
- Location: Bugis Junction, Level 1, near the Singtel shop
- Admission: Free
What is unique about Mobile Protect is that nothing is installed on your mobile phone at all. Instead, it protects you at the network level.
At the network level, it uses Singtel’s 5G network to automatically detect threats and blocks SMSs with known phishing links and potential scam calls. It does so using a 5G slicing technology called Security-as-a-Slice (SecaaS) which puts customers on a dedicated 5G network with enhanced security.
Singtel says that powered by real-time cloud AI threat-intelligence, Mobile Protect filters an average of 660,000 potential threats and blocks over 5,000 malicious access daily. To find out how well protected they are, customers will receive a weekly threat summary via their Singtel app. They will get insights into their risk level the types of threats that have been blocked.
Singtel says that Mobile Protect is meant for all consumers as the need to be digitally secure is growing more important across all target markets. However, I feel that it’d be more appropriate for the elderly like my parents (for who security is only a suggestion) and my kids (who think that they will never fall victim to any scams).
Pricing and availability
Singtel Mobile Protect is available at just S$4.90 per month to all Singtel 5G customers with no minimum contract period. They can add Mobile Protect to their 5G plan via the My Singtel app with no additional installations or app downloads needed.
