Samsung to officially launch its foldable phone in Q1 2019?

Samsung's first foldable smartphone could be formally announced in the first quarter of next year.

The first quarter of 2019 could be a busy period for Samsung as it is rumored to be launching the Galaxy S10 and its first foldable smartphone.

According to Yonhap News Agency, industry sources claim that the Galaxy S10 would be announced in February while the 5G variant would be unveiled alongside the foldable phone in March.

Samsung Electronics President Koh Dong-jin reportedly said that the company will release the foldable phone within the first half of 2019. He also expects shipment of at least 1 million units of the foldable phone

The foldable phone, which was teased last week at Samsung's annual developer conference, is estimated to carry a premium price tag of US$1,770 which could limit its sales and appeal.
