M1 And Trend Micro To Offer Internet Security Solutions

SINGAPORE, 20 October 2010 - As part of continuous efforts to expand its service offerings to complement its broadband services, M1 has launched an Internet security solution for personal computers. M1 will partner Trend Micro, a market leader in Internet content security, to safeguard its customers’ interest and optimize their experience when web browsing.

Available from 21 October, M1 will offer three different packages comprising various software components such as anti-virus, anti-spyware, web threat protection, unauthorised change prevention, anti-spam, firewall optimisation, parental controls, data theft prevention and others. These packages will cost from as low as $3.75 per month for a licence covering 3 PCs.

As a main feature, parents can shield their young children from inappropriate content and limit their Internet usage. This service will also be able to protect against online threats such as virus, malware and spyware. It will filter out suspicious websites to ensure online safety, as well as prevent unauthorised attempts to change operating system and software.

Billed on a monthly basis, M1 customers will receive automatic software updates for as long as they are subscribed to the service. They will also enjoy the added convenience of not having to renew their software licences annually.

As part of a launch promotion, customers will enjoy 50% off the first 6 months of subscription.
