Huawei shot down rumors of it selling 5G modems to Apple

Huawei stated that there is no communication with Apple about 5G modems.

Engadget reported last week that Huawei is “open” to selling its 5G modems to Apple. However, this is far from the truth.

During the Q & A session at Huawei’s Analyst Summit 2019, Huawei’s representatives confirmed that the company has no change in their chipset strategy and no communication with Apple on 5G modems.

With Apple and Qualcomm still embroiled in a bitter legal battle, it is likely that the iPhone maker could turn to Intel, Samsung or MediaTek for 5G modems. Apple also could not develop its own modems in time for the 5G iPhone in 2020
