When it comes to super sizing your mobile data needs, StarHub has been at the backseat for some time now. The last notable data upsize option released is the Plus 3, which provides 3GB of extra data for just $3. Singtel has since released DataX3 and M1 has charged forward with Upsized Data Plus and Upsized Data Super options that provide far more data for the mobile savvy folks.
From 29th April 2017, StarHub has unleashed their new DataJump add-on option that offers a sizable data upsize for just S$10 and it applies to 4G 4 plans or higher (applies for those on 2-year contract plans and for SIM-only no-contract plans):-

Note that DataJump will not be applicable for the lower tier 4G 3 - only Plus 3 option is applicable.
The upside is that DataJump is applicable for new customers, re-contracting customers, and even existing customers. So if you are an existing StarHub mobile customer, but you're not anywhere near the completion of your contract cycle, you can still add DataJump anytime you need it (at least at this point of time of publication, refer to the caveats below).
With DataJump, it looks like StarHub is finally back in the mobile data race to fulfill the needs of a growing based of consumers who are heavily reliant on their mobile data for many of their day-to-day needs.
There are however a few caveats you should be aware:-
- There is a one-time activation charge of S$10.70 for activating your plan's applicable DataJump. The FAQ explicitly states that it will not be waived unless there is a special promotion that states such.
- For a limited time, DataJump will be offered without any contract commitment. That means StarHub may one day only offer DataJump with a fixed contractual period.
- You cannot stack DataJump with Plus 3. You can only one data add-on option.
