M1’s iPhone 17 offer lets you buy it at S$0 upfront on a Bespoke Flexi Plan (Updated)

The wait is finally over – the iPhone 17 series has landed, and M1 is pulling out all the stops to ensure customers get more value than ever before. From S$0 upfront payment plans to exclusive accessory bundles, the telco is rolling out offers that promise savings of over S$2,000, whether you’re a new subscriber, porting in, or an existing customer looking to upgrade.

M1 Pre-Order Specials for All plans

No matter which plan you’re signing up for with the new iPhones, you’re a winner with these perks:-

• M1 exclusive accessories gift pack worth $351 (see below for details)
• Up to S$1,005 for trading in the iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB for all customers (iPhone 16 Pro Max 256GB used as example. All other phones also have attractive trade-in values)
• S$100 special trade-in bonus over and above the normal trade-in price for all customers (for iPhone 11 and above and Androids from 2019) 
• Extra S$100 for all SAFRA customers
• Extra up to S$130 for all Citi M1 cardholders
• Up to S$360 off for purchase-with-purchase offers for Apple Watch (up to S$160) / iPad (up to S$200) for all customers
• Free eSIM upgrade/conversion (the eSIM installation is free for all customers, is easy and just takes a few minutes to complete.)

What are the different plan types?

For the uninitiated, M1 offers BeSpoke Flexi, BeSpoke Contract and Bespoke SIM-Only mobile plans.

For the iPhone 17 pre-order phase, M1 is throwing in perks for those choosing the BeSpoke Flexi and BeSpoke Contract plans and will be the focus of this story.

A focus on Bespoke Flexi Plan: S$0 upfront, maximum value

On the Bespoke Flexi plan, customers can opt for any of the latest iPhone models with no upfront cost. Taking the iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB as an example, you pay S$0 upfront, while the monthly payment of S$78.95 (for 36 months) covers both the device and plan, which comes packed with 350GB data, 1GB worldwide roaming, 500 minutes of talk time, and 350 SMS.

In addition to the offers listed earlier, Bespoke Flexi Plans get these offers: 

• S$100 handset discount for new and port-in customers
• S$120 plan discount for new and port-in customers
• S$100 Loyalty Perks plus a handset voucher for existing customers
• Up to S$576 Loyalty Perks plus a plan discount for existing customers 
• Worldwide roaming up to 3GB

The offers add up quickly. After all the savings are calculated, during the pre-order period, consumers stand to gain up to S$2,266 worth of vouchers and discounts for new customers, and up to S$2,371 for existing customers, for a new iPhone 17. Yes, you read that right, M1 is also addressing a commonly mentioned complaint that only new customers receive preferential treatment. Looks like M1 is listening and existing loyal customers are finally being addressed. Kudos, M1.

Bespoke Flexi & Contract Plans compared for new iPhones

Here’s how all the plans stack up, including their respective prices per month and the total cost of the phone. As mentioned, picking up a Bespoke Flexi plan will allow you to pick any of the new iPhones for $0, while you pay a monthly cost that bundles both the cost of the phone and the plan for 36 months (or three years). Meanwhile, the Bespoke Contract is a fixed two-year contract plan involving both the cost of the plan and an upfront cost of the phone that differs based on the plan benefits chosen.

CIS customers score big on a Bespoke Contract

Corporate Individual Scheme (CIS) customers have even more reason to celebrate with an additional 38% discount on Bespoke Contract plans. Based on M1’s most popular CIS plan option of S$83.95, it includes 300GB of data, 2GB roaming, and 650 minutes/SMS. Customers pay S$494 upfront for an iPhone 17 Pro Max 256GB or S$222 upfront for an iPhone Air 256GB model, for example.

Trade-in bonuses, Citi cardholder perks, and up to S$360 in additional discounts for bundled Apple Watch or iPad purchases sweeten the deal. And like the Flexi plan, all CIS customers enjoy free eSIM upgrades for quick and easy setup. Here’s what the CIS plans get in addition to the list above:-

• Up to S$450 handset discount for new and port-in customers
• S$504 plan discount for all customers
• Worldwide roaming

In total, the savings here can reach up to S$2,900 for new customers, and S$2,299 for existing customers, combining handset discounts, plan rebates, and the same accessories gift pack.

Which Plan is more cost effective?

Should you pursue a CIS plan or a normal consumer plan? Should it be a Bespoke Flexi or Bespoke Contract?

To better answer these questions, we selected only 1 phone SKU (iPhone 17 Pro Max 1TB) and a Bespoke Contract plan that closely matches the Bespoke Flexi plan we’ve showcased. Remember, the Flexi plan has differing payment terms, but what M1 has shared is what’s most popular - the 36-month payment term, which, for the new iPhones, all come to $0 upfront cost. Yet another variable is that the plan entitlements aren’t alike -- Contract S has less data and talk time than the Flexi plan, while Contract M has more roaming data and talk time than the Flexi plan. As such, it’s not a very direct comparison, but we can get close enough to give you a direction by pitting them alltogether:-

CIS or Consumer contract plans?

Between CIS or Consumer contract plans, the choice is clear - CIS is consistently more cost effective.

Flexi (36-month) or Bespoke plans?

If you intend to change up your phone in 2 years, the Contract plans are better; in particular, the CIS Bespoke Contract stands out for being cheaper and offering better plan perks.

If you want to stretch out your payments and not bear any upfront costs, the three-year Bespoke Flexi is the most cost-effective and bears fairly reasonable entitlements.
