Here's Vivo at MWC Shanghai 2019! As you can see, they had a huge booth up, and like everyone else at the show, the focus was very much the potential of 5G.
And of course, the key to tapping into the potential of 5G for Vivo is mobile. At the show floor was a prototype unit of an upcoming 5G mobile phone for Vivo (final name yet to be confirmed) set up to showcase a variety of features that would be enabled with the use of 5G.
Not much was given in terms of details, but it will come with a SnapDragon 855 processor, have 44W fast charging, and some form of liquid cooling system.
As you can see, it looks like this will have a triple camera setup too. This close-up also gives you a better look at the carbon fiber-like design on the back of its otherwise glossy surface. Quite a handsome device we must say.
The first demonstration, was of what Vivo calls "5G EasyShare". It's basically near instantaneous transfer of files between smartphone to PC via the Cloud. Thanks to the speed of 5G, this happens almost as fast as it would if you connected the two via a data cable. Impressive!
Next up, an example of wireless screen sharing via 5G. With 5G, even wireless screen mirroring can be done seamlessly without lag, so your smartphone is all you need to power a bigger screen television.
Finally, there was a demonstration of 5G Cloud gaming. With this, the smartphone isn't actually processing the game itself, but rather just projecting the already rendered content onto the screen. All the heavy work is done by the cloud.
