Xiaomi's new 8-inch Mi Pad 4 tablet has AI Face Unlock

Xiaomi has just unveiled the Mi Pad 4 at an event in China. The affordable tablet sports an 8-inch 16:10 aspect ratio Full HD+ 1,920 x 1,200 IPS display (~283ppi) and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage.

Xiaomi has just unveiled the Mi Pad 4 at an event in China. The affordable tablet sports an 8-inch 16:10 aspect ratio Full HD+ 1,920 x 1,200 IPS display (~283ppi) and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor with 3GB or 4GB RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage. The tablet has a 6,000mAh battery.

On the rear, the tablet has a 13-megapixel, f/2.0 rear camera with support for HDR. On the front, there's a 5-megapixel, f/2.0 selfie camera. The front camera powers the tablets new AI Face Unlock feature, which is said to be similar to Apple's Face ID.

The Xiaomi Mi Pad 4 price starts at ¥1,099 (~S$230) for the 3GB RAM/32GB Wi-Fi version, ¥1,399 (~S$292) for the 4GB RAM/64GB Wi-Fi version, and ¥1,499 (~S$313) for the 4GB RAM/64GB  Wi-Fi + LTE version. All three variants will be available in Black or Gold colors.
