Samsung's folding smartphone is expected to be unveiled next month at Samsung's annual developer conference, but it might not be the only folding device on show.
A patent filed back in April this year, but only recently published shows a device that, when unfolded, can be used just like a traditional tablet.
However, users can also use just one half of the tablet’s display by folding it open, which will turn off half of the panel and automatically switch the UI to a smartphone-like experience. Alternatively, folding it in the other direction will close it like a book, protecting the display and allowing it to be easily put in a pocket.
