Samsung has unveiled its new AI-built tablets, the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+, that Samsung says boasts of their performance upgrades over the Galaxy Tab S9 series.
The Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has a 14.6-inch display while the Galaxy Tab S10+ comes with a 12.4-inch display. The displays on both models come with an anti-reflective Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a refresh rate of 120Hz. This is the same as the displays found on the Galaxy Tab S9 series.

According to Samsung, a Dynamic AMOLED 2X is the latest generation of Dynamic AMOLED technology with Dynamic Tone Mapping optimising colour and contrast to give 100% accurate DCI-P3 colour gamut and the ‘2X’ relates to the upgraded Hz - from 60Hz to 120Hz ensuring super smooth scrolling and highly responsive movements.
They both also use a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ to deliver 5G connectivity as opposed to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 in their predecessors. With the change, Samsung is claiming that the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra includes a more than 18% increase in CPU, 28% increase in GPU, and 14% increase in NPU over the S9 Ultra. For Galaxy Tab S10+, performance upgrades include a 16% increase in CPU, 27% increase in GPU, and 13% increase in NPU compared to Galaxy Tab S9+.
They both have 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, with an expansion slot that can take a MicroSD card up to 1.5TB. they also have quad speakers that no longer seem to be tuned by AKG, but have an AI-powered Dialogue Boost, which amplifies voices over unwanted noise to create ultra-clear audio. They both also have an IP68 rating further protected by Enhanced Armour Aluminium to handle bumps and scrapes to be used anytime, anywhere.

The Galaxy Tab S10 Series can also serve as a Galaxy home hub to simplify device management. With large screen- optimised features such as 3D Map View, it’s easy to see status of SmartThings-enabled devices via the SmartThings widget. Users can also enable SmartThings Energy and AI Energy Mode to easily monitor their devices’ energy consumption.
One difference between the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra and S10+ is in their batteries. While both have 45W Super-Fast Charging, the difference is that the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra has a 11,200mAh battery while the Galaxy Tab S10+’s is 10,090mAh. This capacity again is the same as their predecessors.
What is different this time round is that AI is rather heavily involved in the use of the Galaxy Tab S10 series. AI features, which are now easily accessible with written prompts using the new Galaxy AI Key on the Book Cover Keyboards with either Samsung’s Bixby or Google’s Gemini.
Apps optimised to use AI include:

- Note Assist using the S Pen makes doing homework, note-taking during meetings, and personal journaling more efficient with automated transcriptions and summaries provided by AI. With PDF Overlay Translation, the Galaxy Tab S10 Series can also translate PDFs via an on-screen overlay. Handwriting Help cleans up untidy handwritten notes, too.
- Sketch to Image turns imagination into reality, turning sketches into art.
- Circle to Search with Google on the Galaxy Tab S10 Series allows a user to search any image, video or text in two taps. Circle to Search with Google can even recognise and outline steps for solving physics and math problems.
- The Galaxy S Pen’s Air Command with AI provides instant access to Galaxy AI shortcuts without toggling between menus. AI Assistant apps can also be easily launched by the Galaxy AI Key on the Book Cover Keyboard8 with written prompts, making it easier for users to choose between Samsung’s Bixby and Google’s Gemini for a customised AI experience.
