A well-connected analyst has boldly predicted that sales of the Apple iPad will drop a staggering 50% this quarter. Year-over-year, he expects iPad sales to decline roughly 30%.
And according to well-connected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, he expects sales of iPads to dip further. Specifically, he is predicting that sales of iPads this quarter will fall a staggering 50%. A fall following the holiday quarter is usually nothing to be alarmed about, but 50% is substantial. He also said that shipments will struggle to exceed 45 million units, which would mean a decline of 30% year-over-year.
Apple is expected to launch a new larger 12.9-inch iPad later this year, but Kuo thinks that will do little to boost sales.
