A new iPad mini could be coming later this year

It's been a while since the last iPad mini. A new one could be coming soon.

The last iPad mini was released in 2021. And now, a new one could be on its way.

A leaker claims to have seen evidence of "at least one new iPad coming" and that iPad could be the seventh-generation iPad mini.

The last iPad mini was announced in 2021 alongside the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, so it's not out of the question for Apple to do the same for the new one.

Furthermore, both Mark Gurman from Bloomberg and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believe that a new iPad mini is in the works.

Though it must be said that they cannot agree on the timeline. Gurman thinks Apple will release it this year while Kuo believes mass production will likely only begin early next year.

Regardless, the new iPad mini will very likely be a spec bump update featuring new processors – likely the A16 Bionic or rumoured A17 Bionic – and a host of other minor but significant improvements like Photonic Engine for computational photography, support for ProRes video, and better connectivity in the form of Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.

The good thing is that we won't have to wait long to find out because Apple is widely expected to announce the new iPhones sometime in early September.
