With the current iPad 2 reaching its product refresh cycle in a month or two, the ever-busy rumor mill is churning out yet another report of a possible Apple iPad 2S model.

According to 9to5Mac, a Chinese case manufacturer by the name of "Chinee" has displayed cases for a tablet device which it labelled as "iPad 2S". Besides having a 1mm increase in thickness, the cases appeared to have camera holes to accommodate bigger lens. Chinee claimed that the design specifications are based on information from sources within Apple's supply chain.

Similar to the Apple iPhone 4S, the "S" naming convention may suggest that Apple is merely updating the technical specifications on the upcoming iPad model instead of a major re-design. The iPad 2S cases coincided with an earlier report by iLounge Editor-in-Chief Jeremy Horwitz. Horwitz said he had some hands-on time with the new iPad and remarked that it has a "roughly 1mm" increase in thickness and sports a similar look as the iPad 2.
