While the global tablet market is expected to shrink in the near future, one tablet vendor is forecasted to gain more market share.
According to the latest report from Strategy Analytics, Microsoft will see its share in the global tablet market increase from 10% in 2015 to 18% in 2019. This comes at the expense of the Android tablets which will see a drop from 68% to 59% in the same period. Apple, on the other hand, will maintain its market share with little growth.
Strategy Analytics has its reasons for giving Microsoft a positive outlook; the first 9 months of 2015 saw shipments of Windows tablets jumped by 58% compared to the same period in 2014. Moreover, the upcoming holiday season will boost shipments for Microsoft.
