Apple could address one long-standing issue on the iPad Air and iPad Pro: the FaceTime camera on the top of the device in portrait mode, which makes video calls awkward in landscape mode as it is off-center.

While this change is certainly welcome as more people are using the tablets as a mobile laptop replacement, it creates yet another problem: the second-generation Apple Pencil currently attaches to the iPad via a magnetic charger along the same side. The other news is that the Apple Pencil might also get a refresh this year, so there is a chance that Apple could fix both these quality of life and user experiential issues at one go.
The new iPad Air and iPad Pro are expected to be announced as early as this week alongside the new Apple Pencil.
