Rumors have been circulating around for some time about a larger iPad and now we might have our first look at the device.
A Foxconn employee obtained an internal sketch of the device, generally referred as the iPad Pro, and shared some details of its specs with news site Nowhereelse. According to the employee, the iPad Pro is said to be between 6.9 and 7.5mm thin, and will sport four integrated speakers (two on the top and two on the bottom). Mass production of the device is said to begin soon.
The iPad Pro is speculated to come with a 12.9-inch display and is likely to launch later this year. The release of the iPad Pro was reportedly delayed due to overwhelming demand for the iPhone 6 models and since production has gradually caught up with the demand, Apple may be shifting its focus on the tablet device.
Besides Apple, Sony is also alleged to be working on a 12.9-inch Xperia tablet for release in the first half of the year. DigiTimes reported that more vendors will unveil larger-sized tablets this year which could affect sales of notebooks.
