Apple is said to be refreshing the Magic Keyboard for the entry-level iPad.
In his latest Power On newsletter, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg shared that Apple suppliers are working on a new Magic Keyboard for the entry-level iPad or the new iPad Airs.
The current 10th-generation iPad uses the Magic Keyboard Folio, which has its pros and cons. While the typing experience is generally good, it has a two-piece design that some users find cumbersome. It's also rather pricey.
Gurman says the new low-end Magic Keyboard will not have a metal palm rest and other expensive components, but it could come with a row of function keys. He thinks Apple will launch this new entry-level Magic Keyboard by the middle of next year.
Apple updated the Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro earlier this year. It comes with a full 14-key function row, an aluminium palm rest and a bigger glass trackpad with haptic feedback.
