Apple's newest iPad Pro has a beautiful OLED Ultra Retina XDR display, but it is currently affected by a bug that blows out HDR highlights on certain shades of blue.

Discovered by iMore, the HDR bug presents itself under a specific set of circumstances where navy and indigo almost look white on the new iPad Pro. iMore describes the blown-out effects as shimmering creases, "a spider's web placed over the surface", and "an inky blob morphing over it".

iMore failed to replicate the issue on other devices with OLED displays such as the Apple iPhone 15 Pro, Steam Deck OLED, and a Samsung TV. This led iMore to believe the HDR bug could be due to the image processing engine having issues showing highlights in certain circumstances.

Apple reportedly confirmed with iMore that it is aware of the HDR bug and will issue a software update to fix it.
