Although Apple announced that revenue for the iPad grew for the first time in 10 quarters in its recent quarter earnings report, overall unit sales continue to decline. This might have forced Apple to rethink its iPad strategy and huge changes are predicted to come next year.

According to KGI securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple will be introducing three new iPad models next year which are the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro, a 12.9-inch iPad Pro 2 and a more affordable 9.7-inch iPad model. For 2018, Kuo claims that the iPad will start using flexible OLED displays like the 2017 iPhone.

Kuo did not mention any details about the 7.9-inch iPad Mini and iPad Air lineup, which could suggest that they may eventually be phased out. As such, Apple may not announce new iPads later this year.
