It now comes in a new white colourway.

E-readers aren’t strictly for non-fiction or novels, especially since there are ones like Kobo’s Clara Colour around. The full-colour e-ink display makes it ideal for illustration aficionados who don’t want to lug their comic book or magazine collection around.

To cater to its users’ personal taste and stylistic preferences, Rakuten Kobo has announced the same Kobo Clara Colour e-reader, but it’s now in White. Originally, the e-reader was launched in only one colour, Black.

Functionally, it’s still the same basic e-reader with colour support. It has a 6-inch E Ink Kaleido 3 Display with 1,448 x 1,072 pixel resolution (that renders at 150 PPI for colour content and 330 PPI for B&W content). It’s also rated IPX8, just about enough waterproofing to survive 60 minutes at a 2 metres depth.
Also included are a 1,500mAh battery, an adjustable ComfortLight Pro front light for colour temperature and blue light reduction, and connectivity solutions (USB-C port, Wi-Fi 4, and Bluetooth).
The e-reader can access its very own Kobo Audiobooks library, the Kobo Store, and has OverDrive and Libby integration (which grants easy access to NLB books). It has 16GB of storage, which lets you keep your favourite reads using common e-book file formats (including EPUB, EPUB3, FlePub, PDF, MOBI, CBZ, CBR, and more).
Pricing and availability
The price of the Kobo Clara Colour in White is the same as its Black variation, S$239.90. You can find both at the official Kobo online store, LazMall store, Shopee Mall, Metapod and other authorised retailers (list here).
