It could be the second category of device after the iPhone to feature this technology.

The next iPad Pro could feature a vapour chamber cooling system similar to the iPhone 17 Pro.

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg shared in his Power On newsletter that the next-generation iPad Pro, expected to be powered by the M6 chip, may incorporate a vapour chamber cooling system to reduce thermal throttling and improve performance – particularly during demanding workloads or graphics-intensive gaming.

With Apple reportedly shifting to an 18-month refresh cycle for the iPad Pro, the new model featuring the vapour chamber cooling system may debut in the spring of 2027.

The iPhone 17 Pro was the first Apple product to have a vapour chamber cooling system. Designed in-house, it is laser-welded to the chassis to transfer heat from the chamber throughout the device. You can learn more about its real-world performance in our iPhone 17 Pro review.

If the iPad Pro’s implementation is successful, Apple could expand it to other products, such as the MacBook Air.
