Sony has suspended sales of its latest flagship phone, the Xperia 1 VII, in three markets.

According to Sony’s support page, the Xperia 1 VII may experience random shutdowns or reboots during use, and in some cases, may not power on afterwards. As a result, Sony has halted sales of the Xperia 1 VII.

For affected users, Sony recommends pressing and holding the power button and volume (+) button simultaneously for about 20 seconds to perform a “force restart” and installing the latest software update.

Sony Singapore has temporarily ceased selling the Xperia 1 VII on its website, as of July 7, 2025.

Although sales of the Xperia 1 VII have been suspended in Japan, Hong Kong and Taiwan, it remains available for purchase in Singapore on the Sony Store Online at the time of publication. Shipment of the Xperia 1 VII is stated to begin from mid-July. So far, no issues have been reported by Xperia 1 VII users in our forums.

As a result of these random shutdowns and reboots, Sony is suspending sales of the Xperia 1 VII in Singapore, Japan, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

When the Xperia 1 VII was launched here, Sony Singapore recently ran an early bird promotion that offered free colour-matched phone cases (worth $50) and Sony WH-1000MX5 headphones with the purchase of the Xperia 1 VII. The Xpera 1 VII is S$1,989.
