Vivo X300 Pro will use a 200MP telephoto sensor by Samsung

Yes, telephoto. That’s a bit much, isn’t it?

The previous Vivo X200 Pro also had a 200MP telephoto camera, even if it didn’t have the new stabilisation rating alluded by Vivo itself. Image: Vivo

The Vivo X300 Pro will feature a “deeply customised” 200MP Samsung sensor for its telephoto shooter.

Han Boxiao (transliterated), Product Manager at Vivo, shared on Weibo that the Vivo X300 Pro’s “adoption” of a 200MP telephoto sensor for zooming in “speaks volumes about our (Vivo’s) success”.

Separately, famed phone tipster @UniverseIce said on X (formerly Twitter) that the 200MP sensor is a 1/1.4-inch ISOCELL sensor, which implies that it’s made by Samsung.

Other details in Vivo’s social media post also stated that the new 200MP sensor (also equipped with a ZEISS APO lens) features exceptional stabilisation (rated at CIPA 5.5). It also comes with an exclusive focus tracking engine for narrowing down on subjects, with extensive work done on its hardware and software optimisation that’s AI-like in nature.

For comparison, Vivo X200 Pro’s 200MP telephoto camera was rated at a lower CIPA 4.5 for stabilisation, even though it was also a ZEISS T* coated lens with an equally large 1/1.4-inch sensor.

Previously, the Vivo X300 Pro surfaced in China’s equipment registry, confirming that the device will support 90W wired charging.
