You can now turn on disappearing messages by default on WhatsApp

WhatsApp is giving users more control and privacy on its messaging app.

In a blog post, WhatsApp shared that users now have the option to turn on disappearing messages by default for all new chats. The new feature is optional and will not affect any existing chats.

WhatsApp is also adding two new durations for disappearing messages. Aside from the current option of 7 days, users can choose 24 hours and 90 days. The new features can be accessed by Privacy Settings > Default Message Timer.
