You can buy the limited edition Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 starting today!

Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 launches in Singapore this Saturday, Feb 11th.

When Huawei launched the regular version of its Mate 9 smartphone in November last year, it also announced a luxurious limited edition Porsche Design version that would follow.

That phone is finally coming to Singapore, and will be available today (11th February) in limited numbers only at the Huawei Service Centre located at 313@Somerset #B2-12/13. It's not cheap though, with each phone costing a whopping S$2,399.

The Porsche edition of the phone is quite different from the regular version, with various design tweaks and beefier specifications, including a smaller 5.5-inch display and a higher resolution 2,560 x 1,440-pixel AMOLED panel (in addition to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage). This notches up the pixel density significantly compared to the regular Mate 9, and the Porsche Design phone comes in at 534ppi versus 373ppi on the vanilla model!

In addition, the Mate 9 Porsche Design’s display curves slightly at the edges, and the fingerprint scanner has been moved to a physical Home button on the front of the phone below the display. It also has a big Porsche Design logo on the front and a PD logo on the rear.

"The very definition of luxury has changed, as today’s luxury consumers reprioritize what they value most," said Cheng Jiangfei, Head, Huawei Consumer Business Group, Singapore. "As a brand, it is essential for us to constantly push the boundaries in the design and engineering of our products so they tune into the special demands and needs of this new segment of luxury consumers. The Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 sets a new benchmark in design and performance, and we are confident this limited edition smartphone will find its niche in the Singapore market."
