Less than two months after launching the Redmi Note 3, Xiaomi yesterday updated the product lineup with a new variant running on a different processor.

Officially known as the Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon, the new model is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 chipset. The Snapdragon 650 chipset supports LTE Cat 7 speeds of up to 300Mbps, VoLTE, and 4K video recording. It also sports a 16-megapixel, f/2.0 rear camera with phase detection autofocus and a front-facing 5-megapixel camera. Like the Redmi Note 3, the new variant comes in two variants:

  • 2GB RAM with 16GB internal storage space at 999 yuan (~S$218)
  • 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage space (pricing unavailable)

The rest of its specs remain the same; you get a 5.5-inch Full-HD display, a metallic chassis and a massive 4,050mAh battery. As with any Xiaomi's product launch, there is no word yet on the availability and pricing in Singapore.
