Xiaomi sets a new record in its home market by selling 800,000 units of Redmi Note 2 in 12 hours!

Xiaomi is looking to retain its position as China's biggest smartphone vendor if sales of the recently announced Redmi Note 2 continue to do well!

The first batch of Redmi Note 2 went on sale two days ago in China and all 800,000 units were snapped up in 12 hours! That's about 66,666 units sold per hour. The Redmi Note 2 comes in three models with base prices starting from RMB799 (~S$175).

As a quick recap, the Redmi Note 2 is equipped with a 5.5-inch 1080p display, a MediaTek Helio X10 octa-core processor, 2GB RAM and a 13-megapixel rear camera. It also supports 4G dual-SIM, a removable 3,060mAh battery and a memory card slot.
